Jaliek Rainwalker bounced around several foster homes before Stephen Kerr and Jocelyn McDonald of Washington County adopted him in 2003. Jaliek vanished at the age of 12 on Nov. 1, 2007, after spending the night with Kerr at a relative’s unoccupied home in Greenwich. Kerr said that when he awoke, Jaliek was gone.

Kerr and McDonald moved to West Rupert, Vt., four months after Jaliek disappeared and ceased speaking to the media. They have said Jaliek ran away from home. No one has faced criminal charges in relation to Jaliek’s disappearance.

Police say they have received “zero cooperation” from Jaliek’s parents throughout the investigation. Two investigators with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children recently returned to Greenwich to review the case and speak with local police.
