Case Number: unknown.  The Charley Project is profiling his case due to his American citizenship.

Circumstance: On August 11, 2009, Gimelfarb’s parents contacted the Hotel Chachipelin in Liberia, Costa Rica, because they had not heard from their son.  The following day, the hotel notified them that his rented white Hyundai Tucson was found locked in the parking lot of the Rincon De La Vieja Park, three miles from the hotel.  The date and time stamp for admittance to the 35,000 acre park was August 10, 2009.  Gimelfarb has never been heard from again.  He was a 3rd year doctoral student at the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL.  He had no history of mental problems, or any history of alcohol or drug use.  There is a $100,000 reward offered by Gimelfarb’s parents for anyone who can help find him.
