Circumstance: At the time of her disappearance, Judith was an out patient at Hillside Medical Center and was staying with her aunt who lived in Queens. She met Richard E. Reisenberg during a visit to Creedmoor Psychiatric Center. Richard was there for the murder of his wife and son in 1971. Judith went missing with Richard on April 6, 1977. The New York Times, November 1, 1977, “Creedmoor’s Open Gates at Center of Controversy” talks about how Reisenberg was able to escape the institution.
