Circumstance:  Denise Fagot and her two year old son, Daniel Spangle, disappeared from their Lancaster, CA apartment on March 2, 1989.  Fagot’s boyfriend left to go to work and two hours later Fagot’s sister discovered they were missing when she went to the residence to pick up her key.  Upon investigation authorities found the front door open, and despite the cold weather the sliding glass door inside the residence was open.  Police believe the door may have been forced open.  In Daniel’s bedroom the closet door was off track and one muddy foot print was found o top of an air conditioning unit near the sliding glass door.

Initially police thought Fagot left voluntarily with her son but they now suspect foul play was involved.  Fagot had moved to Lancaster not long before her disappearance to be closer to her family after breaking up with Daniel’s father.  At the time of the disappearance Daniel’s father lived in Orange County, CA and was interview by police.  Ten years later he took a lie detector test about the disappearance and failed.  Due to lack of evidence, Daniel’s father has never been arrested.  Denise and Daniel’s case remains unsolved.
