Circumstance:   Athena was last seen with her son’s father, Yusef Mujahid.  She spent most of the week preceding Memorial Day over at Yusef’s house with their son in Atlanta, Georgia. Athena called her sister, Aisha, whom she lived with, on the night of Friday, May 27, 2011. This was the last time anyone heard from Athena. According to Yusef Mujahid, Athena left walking in the middle of the night wearing only a tank top and shorts after a domestic argument leaving their then 16 month old son, King Kare, behind.  It was not until four days later that Yusef called Aisha to ask when Athena was going to pick up the baby explaining that Athena left on Friday after an argument about another woman.  Due to a documented history of domestic violence, and the fact that Athena never left her son, her family immediately contacted police to file a missing persons report and began contacting all of Athena’s friends.  No one had heard from her and she has not been seen or heard from since.
