He was reported being seen by a neighbor around 5 P.M. walking toward downtown, but Vince never showed up at the Post Office that day to pick up the Breese Journal as was his habit. Family did not realize until Sat. that he was gone when they could not reach him by phone since Fri. evening and going to his house Sat. morning.. His car was in the garage, as was his bicycle. His good clothing was lying on his bed as if he had been planning to go to Holy Week services but he never showed up at church Thurs. evening or Friday morning which was highly unusual for him to miss. As soon as family reported to Police that he was missing, Police set up a search by Police, Fire Dept and other emergency agencies from the surrounding towns, and many volunteers of family and friends Sat evening and again all day on Easter Sunday. No trace has ever been found. His name is on several nation-wide lists of missing and unidentified persons. Rumors indicate that he was accidenally killed by someone with a vehicle but no evidence has ever been found. Vince is one of 13 siblings, many relatives and lots of friends.
