He had phone contact with a man named Erik Tyquan McFadden on that day and then told friends he was going to meet someone on West Main Street. He was seen a short time later in the 500 block of West Main Street. Dashad has not been seen or heard from since. The male he was assummed to have gone to meet, Erik McFadden, was living on 14th Street NW, and confirmed to investigators that he did have phone contact with Dashad and planned to meet him on Tuesday near the Amtrak Station on West Main Street. McFadden stated the meeting never took place. Police have reason to believe that McFadden has now left the Charlottesville area and they are putting out alerts as they would like to further question him on the disappearance of Dashad.  Dashad is transgender – may be recognized as male or female.

The Charlottesville Police Department received an anonymous $10,000 donation to go up as a reward for information into the disappearance of Dashad “Sage” Smith.

Police are also asking for information in locating Erik McFadden, a person of interest in the investigation.
